Board Elections and Policies

Since we are a chapter of USA Dance, we follow their main policy and guidelines.  In addition to that, we have a chapter policy that applies to our unique situations in regard to parties, classes, instructors.

Some BDC History

The Phoenix Ball, March 7, 2015

Grand Opening Dance Ball 2015.jpg
Phoenix Ball March 7, 2015.jpg

Ballroom Dance Charleston first opened it's doors in 1989 and have enjoyed a permanent 24-7 facility for most of that time.  During a Sunday afternoon showcase on February 23, 2014 the building was evacuated because of a fire.    We moved to a temporary place for 9 months until this brand new 3,200 square foot facility was completed in December 2014.  The picture shown above is our grand re-opening in March 2015 with USA Dance President Yang Chen.

As far as we know, we are the only USA Dance chapter with a 24/7 facility.   Because of this luxury, we can and do offer private lessons, weekly classes, and floor time available for members to practice.  We also open our doors to other genres such as Latin and Shag for parties and showcases as well as private rentals.

We have a seven-member board of directors who meet most months and work daily to keep this ball rolling.

With 2,600 square feet of floating hardwood, we are an all-round dance center located in Charleston!
