JUNE Class Announcements:

Monday:  Advanced FOXTROT with Debbie Housand

Foxtrot is a ballroom standard, and it’s versatility is greatly responsible for its popularity.  If you are proficient in dancing FOXTROT at the intermediate level, and want to concentrate on learning some fancy new advanced moves, join Debbie on Monday nights!

Foxtrot Trivia:  Entertainer and vaudeville actor Harry Fox is credited with the dance's origin. In a 1914 musical at the New York Theatre, Fox caught the audience’s attention with his fast trotting steps across the dance floor. Ragtime music was playing in the background, and the dance became known as the “Fox’s trot.”

Tuesday:   Intermediate CHA CHA with David Roland

Tuesday nights are going Latin this month with David and Cha Cha.  Cha Cha is known as a playful, lively dance that is popular with both fast and slow latin and pop music.  If you are ready to move up from the basics, you’re going to want to give this class a try.  Leading and following will be emphasized.

Wednesday:   Beginner TANGO with Debbie Housand

Wednesday nights are designed for newcomers and beginner level dancers. Although there are several styles of this dance (Argentine, International Ballroom, etc) Debbie will be teaching basic American style Tango for social dancing.  Although normally danced to “Tango music,” it is also danced at a faster tempo to popular songs.  This makes Tango a great dance for every social setting!

Thursday:  Intermediate RUMBA Variations with Stanley Ostendorff

Rumba is the slowest of the latin dances. At the intermediate level, Rumba is characterized by the connection between partners, slow hip actions, and elegant arm movements.  If you are ready to add some new energy & pizazz to your Rumba, come out on Thursday nights and let Stan teach you some variations that are sure to impress your dance partners!
